Must-See Attractions to Check Out in Memphis

Memphis is one of the most interesting cities in the country, offering a taste of fantastic music, incredible food, and an endlessly stretching history that we’re still taking part in.  If you ever make your way to the home of soul and rock and roll: here’s everything you should check out!

Graceland

Graceland is internationally known as one of the most popular stops for anyone who’s a fan of rock and roll or the King himself.  As the long-time home of Elvis Presley, this museum has become a shrine to his life and a chance to walk through his long and interesting career into becoming himself.  Although it’s just a short drive from the city, you can also enjoy the free trolly ride from Sun Studio, so you can visit two locations at once.

National Civil Rights Museum

Sitting on the site of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.: The National Civil Rights Museum is a stop everyone should make while they’re in Memphis.  Not only does this museum give you the chance to learn about Martin Luther King Jr., but it also walks you through the long and turbulent history of the fight for civil rights and equality in America.  This is a fantastic destination for anyone wanting to learn more about this country and its long past.

Memphis Zoo

The Memphis Zoo, at home in Midtown Memphis, is stretched over 76 acres that are filled with more than 3,500 different animals.  Visiting here gives everyone the chance to see fascinating animals like komodo dragons, beautiful Bengal tigers, and other amazing species.  Rated the top zoo in the U.S. by Trip Advisor, this zoo has offered a little bit of everything for anyone who’s visited in the last 120 years!

Sun Studio

So much music has been made on these walls that it’s almost stunning to see how small Sun Studio really is.  Countless famous singers, from B.B. King to Little Milton and Howlin’ Wolf, have laid down tracks here and made it impossible to ignore the skill of them and their producers.  Now a museum to the acts who have come through here, this is a must-visit destination while looking at Memphis apartments for rent.
